Setup Wizard

The Setup & Health Check wizard (Pinion Admin → Setup) is a read-only dashboard that tells you what post-install configuration is done and what’s left. Each step runs a live server-side check and reports one of Not Started · Done · Action Required · Failed; re-opening the wizard re-runs every check, so it doubles as an ongoing health check, not just a one-time setup flow.

The steps

  1. Assign permission sets. Checks that the running admin holds the required Pinion permission sets (Administrator, User) and lists any missing. See Personas & Permission Sets.
  2. License activation. Checks that an active Pinion license exists; Action-Required links to the License page to activate a key. See Licensing & Feature Gates.
  3. Connect Hosted MCP (Pinion+). Gated to Pinion+ — on a base org it shows an upgrade link. On Plus it runs live MCP detection (the packaged External Client App, its OAuth policy and scopes, the MCP-user permission set, and the MCP server + its tools) and surfaces a per-item checklist, linking to Setup → MCP Servers. See AI Assistant Access.
