Licensing & tiers
Pinion ships in two tiers, and which one an org is on decides which features are available to configure — so knowing the split saves you from authoring something the org can’t run.
- Pinion (base) — a complete CPQ: the configurator and real-time pricing, List and Block pricing, discount schedules, manual discounts, MDQ subscriptions, config-attribute pricing, bundles, product / pricing / approval rules, quote templates and generation, and the approval engine.
- Pinion+ — layers on the advanced and governance capabilities: dimensional (per-segment) attributes, configurable pricing waterfalls, multi-instance and dynamic bundles, advanced approvals (and a higher cap on active rules), mass renewal and renewal forecasting, cross-order discount aggregation, the RevOps dashboard, line-item audit, advanced MDQ cadences, admin AI assistance (the MCP tools), CLM, and Config Promotion. It also raises several base limits — e.g. the base cap of 2 configuration attributes per product.
Pinion is sold both directly and on the Salesforce AppExchange — the same two tiers either way. See the user guide’s Getting Started → Licensing & Tiers for the full feature-by-tier list.
