Welcome to Pinion

Pinion is a Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) app for Salesforce. On a deal, a rep configures what’s being sold, Pinion prices it — in real time, with every adjustment shown — and the rep quotes it as a branded document and routes it for approval. Behind that, admins set up the catalog, pricing, bundles, and rules that make it all work.

The journey

A deal moves through a predictable path, and each step has a section in this guide:

  1. Configure — pick and shape products (bundles, subscriptions, attributes) in the configurator.
  2. Price — Pinion builds each line’s price through the pricing waterfall; rules shape what’s available and what it costs.
  3. Quote — generate a branded PDF from a quote template.
  4. Approve — route discounts and exceptions through approvals.
  5. Contract & renew(documented as those areas finalize.)

Where you work

Pinion has two sides:

  • Reps work on the record — the configurator (the quote line editor) and the Product Display panel on an Opportunity or Quote. That’s where a deal is configured, priced, quoted, and submitted.
  • Admins work in two setup surfaces — Product Manager (opened on a Product, for that product’s attributes, dimensions, block pricing, bundling, and rules) and the Pinion admin app (the org-wide workspace for product groups, discount schedules, segment templates, pricing waterfalls, quote templates, routing, and approval rules).

The Catalog & Pricing Setup section explains which pieces live where.
