Config-Attribute Pricing

A product’s price often depends on how it’s configured: which tier, how many of something, whether an option is on. Config-attribute pricing turns the rep’s configuration-attribute choices into a price adjustment on the line.

How each attribute type prices

The attribute’s type decides how its value contributes (all authored in Catalog & Pricing Setup → Configuration Attributes):

  • Picklist / Multi-Select — each value can carry a Price override (sets the price outright) or a Price delta (adjusts it by an amount or a percent). Picking the value applies its override/delta.
  • Number — priced with bands: the entered number falls in a band whose per-unit rate contributes value × rate, with an optional override or delta layered on.
  • Checkbox — prices two sides: a price effect for checked (true) and one for unchecked (false).

How it composes into the unit price

The attribute contributions blend into the line’s unit price rather than sitting as separate line items. In the Price Waterfall you’ll see this as its own step — for example List $100 → Configuration Attributes (+$45 blended rate, with the per-value breakdown) → unit $145 — so a rep can see exactly how much each choice added.

Because it’s a unit-price adjustment, everything downstream — discounts, quantity, term — applies to the attribute-adjusted price, just like any other base.
